Catholic Archbishop Of Lagos Most Rev Dr Adewale Martins, the Director of Social Communications, Rev. Fr. Anthony Godonu, flanked by Members of Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (CAMPAN) after the New year's day mass at the Holy Cross cathedral Lagos celebrating 54th world day of peace.
As the world commemorate the 54th World day of peace, the Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, His Grace Most Reverend Dr Adewale Martins has called for dialogue amongst warring parties and regions in other to ensure peace in the country.
Speaking to the press at the Holy Cross Cathedral in Lagos after the new year's day mass, Martins reiterated from the pope's message that dialogue, education and work which enhances human dignity are the ingredients by which we can achieve peace as a nation.
He urged countries of the world to invest more on education rather than war armaments as only education guarantees the future.
Every year since 1967, the church through its various popes have been receiving messages on January 1, in commemoration of world day of peace and this year's message from pope Francis is themed dialogue between generations, education and work; tools for building lasting peace, and the over six paged message from the Vatican, proposes three parts for building lasting peace in the world which are dialogue, education and work.
